Ask Your Boating Question?
How to Prepare My Boat and Trailer for the Pending Storm?
Question?

Q: Boy I have been looking for a site like this. Just preparing a little bit for next week's storm. I don't really have a garage to keep it in at this point. It would be really good to make it through the system with out any damage to either the boat or trailer. I guess chaining it up to a tree might work out well. All right now, that is my particular circumstance.

All right now, a big thumbs up. Expect to hear from me again.

Answer!

A: Come on in, an interesting one there. On to the answer now. I have been through similar storms with my boat sitting on my trailer, outside next to my house. No longer though, now it is in the garage. I would rather put the car outside! Seriously, there are things you can do. I will jot a few down below. Alrighty, a correct way to try. Fast forward.

Pull out everything that is not permanent to the boat itself.

Reducing the air pressure of the tires makes it harder to be blown around.

Certainly remove the rear drain plug for back-up drainage.

Use lots of bungee and heavy duty tie downs to secure the boat and trailer together.

Be sure your boat's batteries are fully charged, thereby your bilge float switch can be left on throughout the storm.

If not already, tip up the bow of your boat.

Take off and store the bimini tops and canvas.
Find a location to park the boat/trailer where it has a break from the expected wind flow. Ideally, also use heavy duty tie downs to secure the trailer to non-movable objects.

All right now, everyone gets better with practice. Keep the fight.

We were very surprise to find hundreds fishing off the jetty pier.

On low tide, the beach is extremely wide.

See the amazing undersea coral reef park!

This beach park is absolutely stunning. Kept just as it was 500 years ago!
