You can really save on hotels and Sanibel, by coming out for a mid week getaway in the summer. This is the non-season for the area and the hotels are very competitive. As you call around just ask about discounts and special offers. You can negotiate with the individual hotels on the island, you are the customer. Our most recent stay at the Sundial was exceptional.

Playful times at the Sanibel Sundial This is one fantastic hotel experience, my family just loves this spot. It works so well for family adventure vacations, and the cool little poolside bar adds a bit of spice with frozen cocktails! It is just outstanding.
Tandem Rides Above the Water Save a few bucks in your budget for parasailing. This is the water for that. I did it and was even able to see dolphins playing in the surf. Yes, you can see right through the clear waters. I like the tandem rides so you can talk and laugh while sightseeing from above.
