We just love the lighthouse beach since you can walk for miles and miles. The better area for shelling is anywhere away from the city center. Everything is so relaxing, perfect for book reading. Try some of the books that were written specifically about Sanibel Island. They sell them at both of the local bookshops, Macintosh books and the Sanibel Island Bookshop.

Our Third trip to the Island There is a few tables on the center part. It is shady and nice. Most of the rest is open, so bring a big umbrella or two.
