Things we like to do in Matlacha
Such a good area that any avid angler will really enjoy. Lots of breeding places for the fish makes things so nice. This is definitely fishing in paradise. The boat ramp could use more parking spaces.

More Boatramp Parking is all we Need!
The first time we came out here to explore go boating we stayed at the KOA at the southern tip of Pine Island. You can do everything here on bicycles, just be careful of any pending storms. Having the Publix at the base of the island makes it pretty easy to get around and pick up things for your boating and fishing day.

Be Careful with a Larger Boat

Of my two boats, the seventeen footer gets the most use here around Pine Island. This is a skinny water zone, so do know that. Also, you can save a ton by getting the lessor known lifetime fishing pass. Best for avid sportsmen that knows he/she will fish at least once per year ongoing. I really like the convenience of paying for the licensing once and forever. This pass will remain valid forever even if you move out of Lee County or even into another state.
